SF actually considers tech company tax relief.

I thought this article by the San Francisco Chronicle might actually be very relevant to any tech clients who happen upon my blog. San Francisco is a very progressive city that tries to take care of it’s citizens and implements a substantial number of projects intended to make this city one of the best places to live. This requires funding. San Francisco has historically looked to business owners time and time again to fund these initiatives. This has made SF one of the more expensive cities in the country in which to do business.
Responding to pressures from several large tech companies, SF is looking into allieviating some of that taxation pressure. See the SFGate article for the full story: SFGate Article
